Our standard sleeves are non-fray nylon netting tubes seamed down one edge, with an elastic drawstring in the bottom hem, and a separate tie cord for the top. These versatile sleeves can simply be pulled over a tree branch, shrub or other plant. When fastened at top and bottom the sleeves provide a secure environment for insect study. A cord-lock is available as a separate product which makes it even easier to secure the elastic drawstring.
Additionally our sleeves are designed to fit over an optional supporting frame (as pictured), to make a handy flowerpot cage. Simply insert the legs of the assembled frame around your growing plant and into the firmed soil in your pot, slip on the netting cover, and hey-presto! - an instant self-contained habitat. They are extremely useful when breeding or overwintering insects on potted plants. All our frame kits are easy to assemble and pack flat for storage. They include one set of frame legs (single piece or sectional) with connectors and one top ring set.

13cm (5”): for plants or round pots of up to 13cm (5") diameter, or square pots 10cm (4") wide
- The regular sleeve is 35cm (14”) long with a 41cm (16”) circumference. The optional frame has a leg length of 25cm (10") and top ring of 13cm (5"), to give a cage height above soil level of approximately 20cm (7.5").
- There is no long version of this sleeve or frame.
18cm (7”): for plants or round pots of 13-19cm (5-7") diameter, or square pots 10-15cm (4-5.5") wide
The regular sleeve is 48cm (19”) long with a 58cm (23") circumference. The optional frame has a leg length of 35cm (14") and top ring of 18cm (7"), to give a cage height above soil level of approximately 27cm (11").
The long sleeve is 70cm (27") long with a 58cm (23") circumference. The optional frame has a leg length of 60cm (24") and top ring of 18cm (7"), to give a cage height above soil level of approximately 50cm (20").
26cm (10”): for plants or round pots of 19-26cm (7-10") diameter, or square pots 15-20cm (5.5-8") wide.
The regular sleeve is 70cm (27") long with a 82cm (32") circumference. The optional frame has a leg length of 50cm (20"), and top ring of 26cm (10") to give a cage height above soil level of approximately 38cm (15").
The long sleeve is 85cm (34") long with a 82cm (32") circumference. The optional frame has a leg length of 70cm (28") and top ring of 26cm (10"), to give a cage height above soil level of approximately 58cm (23").
40cm (16”): for plants or round pots of 26-40cm (10-16") diameter, or square pots 20-32cm (8-12.5") wide.
